I like to hit the road and visit places that have a little something going on - some heart and soul, they have a story to tell. I would say unique, but that cheapens it. I know it when I see it. Sometimes they jump out at me - other times they grow on me. Disneyland would not be on my list. Sorry. Sometimes there is music involved, like at Sun Studios in Memphis. Other times it's about food, like the Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago, a truly original Chi-town eatery. You will never see an Applebee's on this blog. I promise. I mean, what's the point ... they are all the same.
I want to visit the original spots in the US, there are many - but they are disappearing. After each visit I will give the location a "Road Stew Rating" from one to ten. Along the way we will discover America, there's a lot out there.
